Mars could have supported life. The Moon has astounding craters. But which one should we explore more? Mars or the moon? I think we should explore Mars more. Why? Read on to find out.
First of all, the U.S. has spent about $152 billion on moon missions. But what good has it done to us? Whereas for mars, we only spent $23.5 billion and we have learned so much! We have observed Mars's atmosphere and seen how different it is to the Earth's atmosphere. We have learned how Mars has these amazing volcanoes that can go up to a height of 16 miles.
Another reason why Mars would be so much more exciting to explore more is there are hints that Mars could have supported life!! The rovers we have sent have seen large blocks of ice, which could have been rivers that froze somehow. There is also scientific evidence that Mars had lakes and rivers... which could have sustained life! And in these bodies of water, there could have been microorganisms making a home in there. If we go and explore Mars, we could help bring these microorganisms back to life, and create an entirely new species altogether!!
One more reason why Mars is better to investigate is because we can find a way to send our astronauts there. If we keep on sending our rovers to Mars, we can learn more about it, and it's hazards. The more we know, the more prepared we will be for the measures we need to take to send humans out there.
What do you think? Should we explore Mars or the Moon? A chance to create a new species on Mars, or just explore craters?
